THE NORINDER EDITION

Inspired by the 1960’s – 70’s racing era with its funky dial design, the Voiture is the grandfather of our collection, the first watch that founder David Campo designed for Nezumi back in 2015. Limited to only 50 watches, the Norinder Edition Voiture pays homage to Swedish race car driver Ulf Norinder ( 1934-1978 ) and his legendary blue and yellow Ferrari 250 GTO.

WHO IS ULF NORINDER?

Race car driver Ulf Norinder drove fast and lived hard. This larger than life playboy managed to become a much-loved legend both on the track and as a jet-setter. His flamboyant lifestyle was depicted in a short film documenting a week long party that he held at his manor in Kilafors, Sweden.

Ulf Norinder was born in 1934 in Kilafors, Sweden, fittingly the same year that his grandfather founded the Swedish candy called Ahlgren’s Bilar which is still sold to this day ( bilar meaning cars in Swedish ). It is said to be modeled after a Bugatti that Ulf’s father owned.

THE INSPIRATION FOR CREATING THIS WATCH

Ulf Norinder’s career began in 1956 at the young age of 22, but it wasn’t until 1963 that he bought a one-year-old Ferrari 250 GTO. He had the car painted in the Swedish national colors, blue and yellow. An iconic livery that Ulf Norinder then competed with. This car is the main source of inspiration for our Voiture ´Norinder Edition´ Chronograph.

In 1964, Ulf and Canadian John Cannon raced the 250 GTO at the Daytona Continental and finished fifth. At the Targa Florino, Ulf and Picko Troberg finished second in their class and ninth place overall.

Early in his career, Ulf Norinder competed with powerful cars such as the Maserati 200S and Porsche 718 RSK, later in life he also added the Porsche 906 and Lola T70 MkIII Chevrolet.
