The design remains clearly part of the Voiture family. The fixed tachymeter bezel, applied indices, central chronograph hand, and automotive timing-instrument character all carry forward, while the dial takes on more depth, layering, and a slightly more mature presence. It is still playful and purposeful, still rooted in the funkier side of 1960s and 1970s chronograph design, but refined around the mechanical movement inside it.

Inside VM2 is the Peacock SL-4801 automatic column-wheel chronograph movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz, with approximately 55 hours of power reserve and 41 jewels. The column wheel coordinates the chronograph’s start, stop, and reset functions, providing the traditional mechanical architecture associated with more sophisticated chronographs. During assembly in Germany, each movement is inspected, lubricated where required, regulated, and tested before final quality control.

VM2 brings the Voiture into a fully automatic chronograph format while retaining the directness, proportions, and automotive character that have defined the model since 2015. Powered by an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement, it takes the familiar Voiture into a more ambitious mechanical form without losing the compact and purposeful character that has long defined the Voiture.

COMPACT BY
DESIGN
Keeping the proportions compact was central to the development of VM2. The main case measures 40mm across, while the 39mm bezel allows the profile to taper toward the dial rather than presenting a straight-sided 40mm form. The steel case itself measures just 11mm in the metal, increasing to 12.9mm including the 1.9mm double-domed sapphire crystal. The result is an automatic chronograph that wears considerably slimmer than its mechanical architecture might suggest.
