10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

VOITURE CHRONOGRAPH

( Swiss Sellita SW510Mb Manual Wound Movement )

– COMING SOON –

I have been a watch enthusiast and collector since my mid-teens back in the 90’s with a penchant for funky 60’s and 70’s chronographs, hence why the Voiture was my first watch design.

For years I have been developing and testing optional mechanical movements, automatic and manual wound, but I have always felt that the glass has been half full. Reliability and availability of a movement is of course very important but there are also other aspects I considered. For example, using an automatic movement generally makes the case too bulky for my liking, even after extensive work on the design and construction, so that option was scratched.

( Swiss Sellita SW510Mb Manual Wound Movement )

I’ve always loved manually wound watches for two reasons: they are, to me, a time capsule back to an era of watchmaking that I really enjoy; and they tend to be thinner than an automatic watch. I also test developed our chronographs as manual wound a few years back, and I was really happy with that current choice of movement, but unfortunately it was discontinued before I pulled the trigger on it.

For years, many of you have been wanting a mechanical chronograph from us – myself included – but there are many important things to take into account like after sales service, what price segment a mechanical Nezumi watch should be in, etc. I didn’t want to release anything knowing there would be a design and / or construction trade-off or risk for issues down the line. I wanted a solid platform out the gate. All things considered, I finally found what I feel is the perfect match for the Nezumi aesthetic: the Swiss Made Sellita cal. SW510 Mb, a reliable and fairly thin , manually wound, no-date chronograph movement.

It’s been 10 years since I started Nezumi as a side project to my other business within fashion design and production. A few years in I realised I wanted to put most of my time into Nezumi rather than work hands-on with my fashion clients. It’s been a lot of fun but far from easy being a one man show for over eight years so in early 2020 I decided it was time to step things up and involve more people, and build what is now Team Nezumi. With that said, we are very proud to announce that to celebrate our 10th anniversary we will release 300 Limited Edition Voiture chronographs using the Sellita cal.SW510 Mb manually wound movement. 3 color-ways will be available and sold on our jubilee style bracelet, all watches individually numbered and assembled in Germany.

Thank you everyone for these first 10 years, we promise that the next 10 will be even more awesome!

Happy New Year from me and Team Nezumi!
